I have a trial version of Sewart64. I have followed directions and can convert a file to a .pes file, however, when I try to open it with my embroidery software (PE Next), I get the message “unexpected file format”. Why, if the file is a .pes, won’t it open?
I have installed PE Next and indeed, it allows opening PES files. The problem is the Sewart64 might generate a PES file that is incompatible with PE Next even if the file format is the same. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do except saving the PES file again, but try to change the settings to make it compatible within the application itself.
I have downloaded a 30-day trial of SewArt, version 32. I have tried to import a JPEG file to a new canvas but it is saying that “photo2.jpeg could not be opened. Contact vendor and supply file”. Could you help me? Thank you.
According to the official information provided on the main website, the application supports import of the following image types: .bmp, .png, .jpg, .gif, .wmf, and .emf. If you cannot transfer a supported file, it seems that the program is not installed correctly. Please reinstall the package using an administrator account. If you still can’t make it work, it means that the image is not compatible although is in a relevant format or there’s a bug.
The image size is large. You can resize the photo and then use this app.
or use any type of converter such as Format Factory, and convert into jpg or bmp or as u want
before doing that check one thing, go to the website and see that the site accept upto which size of pic, i mean 2 MB or something
most of the websites accepts upto 2 MB, is that answer is helpful for u??????????
What is the difference between SewArt64 and 1.5?
The SewArt64 is the 64bit of the application that was designed to work exclusively on this architecture type. However, I’ve seen that the version 1.5 was one of the released ones on the official website as well. There is nowhere on the developer’s website mentioned about the system requirements, but I’ve downloaded the product and installed it on Windows 10 64bit and it simply works.
This was probably a matter of choice as the latest version can be installed on both architecture types.
I am looking at using this in a classroom setting — I have a Viking machine that uses the cards. If I get the USB card reader/writer dongle, will the .hus files write to that and then be useable on the Rose machine?
To write the files on that storage option, you need to configure the application to save the content on the external storage. If saving is performed while the storage is removed, you will encounter errors. Yes, you can use a card reader but it needs to be permanently connected to PC while the application is opened.
I have Windows 10, the software states that it cannot be downloaded. Do you have the program’s upgrade for Windows 10?
I have checked the official website, but couldn’t find anything related to the Windows 10. However, I installed the application on WIndows 8.1 x64 and received the same error with the GDIPLUS file.
Install the application normally and then use the Google Search to obtain the DLL file. Place it in the installation directory and you will have the possibility of saving to GIF and JPEG.

Can SewArt save files in the .EXP embroidery file format for Brenina?
According to the application’s official page, the .exp, Viking(c) format for Brenina machines is among the supported output embroidery formats. I even tested it myself and after the stitching process is done, you can save the file in the .exp format.
Furthermore, SewArt does have a trial mode that lets you use it for 60 minutes for free, so you can install it and check out the functionality that it offers without actually spending any money.
Is there a version of Sewart for Macintosh?
No, the software is not compatible with Macintosh operating system. There is a quote on their official website explaining the procedure you can use to install the application on a Mac OS enabled computer.
Here is what they’re saying:
“All our software products are native Windows applications. That means they will not run on Mac computers without emulation (virtualization) software and a copy of Windows® installed as well. While we do not endorse emulators, there are several well-known commercial ones such as Bootcamp® for Mac (which ships with newer Mac computers), Parallels® Desktop for Mac, and VMware® Fusion. A free emulator which is highly regarded is Oracle’s Virtual Box which does not require rebooting between the Windows and Mac operating systems. Once the emulation software is installed on your Mac, you must load a copy of Windows into the emulator. Most emulators will work with any copy of Windows starting at Windows XP and later. If you don’t already own a copy of Windows, then legal copies of XP can be obtained for around $30 (on E-bay® for example).”

I’m drawing 2D files with some drawing programs. I wonder if SewArt supports DXF, DWG, IGS file formats. These formats are supported by the most popular 2D software. With my utilities I can define the boundaries of the design with accuracy. I would like to try SewArt, but I don’t know if it supports the above formats. Can you help?
No, SewArt doesn’t support DXF, DWG, or IGS drawing files. The application has been developed to work only with .bmp, .png, .jpg, .gif, .wmf, .ico, .svg, .tif and .emf file formats:
I recommend you contact the developers for further information. You can get in touch with them using the Contact Us page.
